PUTRAJAYA, September 22 – The price of chicken in the market showed a downward trend compared to the previous week, said the director of enforcement of the Ministry of Home Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDNHEP), Azman Adam.
Speaking to reporters after conducting inspections at several premises around Putrajaya last night, Azman said the results were the results of his inspection at 600 premises on Monday (September 20).
âWe (KPDNHEP) have found that the average price of chicken nationwide is around RM 8.79 per kg.
âThis (price) is better than around RM11 to RM11.50 recorded two weeks ago,â he said.
Commenting further on the inspection results, Azman said there were 11 establishments detected still selling chicken at RM10 and above.
âA total of 147 locals were found selling chicken at RM 9.50 and above, while 339 locals (RM 9.50 and under) and 103 locals (RM 8 and under),â he said.
He described the downward trend as the effectiveness of nationwide application of KPDNHEP results, including close cooperation with all levels of the chicken distribution chain, including retailers, wholesalers and Breeders. – Bernama
