KUALA BERANG, February 6 – The Ministry of Internal Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDNHEP) will submit an application for authorization of dinner restaurants during the movement control order (MCO).

His deputy minister Datuk Rosol Wahid said the request would soon be submitted to Senior Minister (Security Group) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob or the National Security Council (MKN).

He said that the dinner authorization application is made for the welfare of not only catering establishments and food truck operators, but also workers, suppliers and wholesalers of food products, and essentially any person involved in the food industry.

“For every establishment authorized to offer dinners, it could help jump-start the economy and the lives of at least five people involved in the chain of suppliers of raw materials and goods,” he told reporters afterwards. inspecting the sales of the ‘Prihatin Mart’. mobile grocery store at Dataran Kampung Langgar, here today.

He said the owners of premises and food trucks had promised to comply with all standard operating procedures (SOPs) set by the MKN if dinners were allowed.

Rosol said the KPDNHEP will also demand that premises selling clothes be allowed to operate during the MCO to ensure the survival of traders and workers, especially during the upcoming Chinese New Year and Hari Raya Aidilfitri festivities (in May) .

“We now know that we are faced with a dilemma between the economy and (people’s) health. After all, many new clusters are found in construction sites while there is no emergence of new clusters in industries such as restaurants and eateries, night markets and premises selling. clothes … so we hope the MKN can take this into account.
